More Trapeze Photos

I talk about these in the post below.

Trapeze School

I am in a community theatre show called Tom Sawyer & Huck Finn and this is the last weekend. This is the first time in 3 years that I don't know what comes next. It feels wierd and sad to not have a show to do.

The good thing about taking a break is having time to do some things I've always wanted. This week I went to a place called Trapeze School New York www.trapezeschool.com. They have a school in Baltimore at the Inner Harbor. It was so cool.

I learned a knee hang where you basically swing hanging from your knees with your back arched and hands out so the catcher can catch you. An instructor got on the other trapeze at the end and I made 3 catches in a row, where I let go of the trapeze with my knees and he catches me around the wrists in mid air.

I also learned the whip, where you hang upside down by your hands, under the trapeze bar. Your body is in a pike position with your head pointing to the ground and your butt against the bar. You get into these positions while swinging about 30 feet off the ground. I think it's
called the whip because to make a catch you have to let go at just the right second and whip around out of the pike to catch the other person's hands. I did not try that yet but hope I can next class.

I went at night so my mom did not get very good pictures but I have 2 more classes so I will try to post better ones later. These are 2 pictures of me just starting out and 2 pictures of me just getting into knee hang position. By the time you swing back out to the center you have to be hanging from your knees with arched back and hands out to make the catch.

I really want to play Young Tarzan on Broadway! (Or Flounder in the new Little Mermaid they are casting on Broadway)

Let me know if anyone know of any boy roles!!

The Last Apple Pie

We used to have 2 apple trees in our back yard. When I was little my dad would get up on a ladder and toss the apples to me to catch in my baseball glove. Then my mom and I would make apple pie, and a huge pot of apple butter to put in jars and give away.

A few years ago one of the trees died. Then last weekend in the Ernesto storm the other tree fell down. It was so sad seeing our tree lying in the yard. My mom and I dodged the bees enough to get a sack of apples to make one last apple pie. I will miss the apple pies, but I won't miss the huge japanese wasps.

Wild Ride

I went to Six Flags this week with one of my best theater-friends Casey. This was my favorite ride - the Joker's Jinx. It looks like a ball of twisted steel and you feel like you are going to crash into it on the ride. It goes 60 mph, has 4 upside down loops and a corkscrew.

The Tower of Doom is a high-speed free fall from 140 ft. in the air. It's impossible to scream because your stomach is in your throat.

On the Mind Eraser you basically spend 2 minutes going 55mph twisting around and upside down.
This is the Superman. It drops from 200 ft. in the air at70 mph for almsot a mile. I thought I was gonna die.
After torturing ourselves on the rides, we stopped for a smoke.

Then I played a shooting game and with 2 shots won a stuffed dog almost bigger than me! Guess all that ASSASSINS target practice paid off!

South Park

Yesterday after our late night performance I hung up south park characters of the cast in the dressing rooms. I got the idea from Assassins when Donna and Stephen made south park characters of that cast. The idea caught on and soon everyone in the entire cast had made at least one, soon we had I'd say about 50 different Assassins from south park hanging in the green room everyone thought they were quite funny, so I thought why not make a couple for An Enemy of the People. That couple turned into the whole cast and a few of the tech people.

Here's a picture of our enemy south parkers.

12 So yesterday was my birthday; finally I'm 12. But I was too exhausted to do anything so I just sat around my house playing video games until I couldn't see and my fingers hurt ( I'm sure a lot of you can relate), until I was forced to go run errands, and with my luck our car battery died, in the middle of the parking lot out side of Target, on a 117 degree day. So we were stuck there for about a half hour just waiting until my dad could get one of his workers out to where we were to give us a jump start. When we finally got home we had about 10 minutes to bask in the glory of the AC before we had to leave to go to my birthday dinner at Outback. The only reason I still wanted to go was because I can't resist Outback. So when we got home I was so hyper because I drank like 5 cokes at dinner I just started running in my back yard doing handless cartwheels and backflips and a whole bunch of random things. When I came back in I was really tired, too tired to do anything so I just played video games and watched Friends episodes until I went to bed.
